The concept behind the Taipan 5.7 was to produce a catamaran that would easily carry large crew weights and yet retain the excellent feel and response of the Taipan 4.9. This of course had to be carried out within length and width that would allow legal towing. The boat that resulted has been acclaimed by many of Australia's top sailors, and is a very exciting little boat that is suited for regattas and more pleasant outings.
