Current Projects

This custom 68 foot sail boat chose Kinder Industries to transform the canvas on board. The main salon cushion recover included six seats and backs for the bench seating and two matching cushions for the chairs. Soft Italian leather was used to cover the existing foam to provide a classic look for this beautiful boat. Egyptian cotton sheets were custom fitted for each of the six berths. Ultra-suede mattress covers were fabricated for a finished look on each of the four pilot berths and the two forward berths.

Not pictured are folding chairs that were recovered using captain's navy Sunbrella for the deck that had a small pocket on the back for minor accessories. Exterior deck canvas was also fabricated to give the upper deck a uniformed look. A dodger was made with a 1" stainless steel frame and covered with Captain's Navy Sunbrella to provide shade while on the deck. The aft cockpit and main cockpit cushions were recovered with Captains Navy Sunbrella with silver piping. Coordinating throw pillows were made from Silver Sunbrella with Navy piping. A matching navy binnacle cover was made to protect the wheel and pedestal. Life Song is currently cruising in the Bahamas with a new fresh look that will last for several years to come.

Team Puma acquired ABN AMRO 2 as their training boat for the next Volvo Ocean Race and contacted Kinder to build the canvas as part of the refit.  Kinder made a Puma branded sail cover as part of the project.

Rambler (formerly Alfa Romeo Shockwave), owned by George David and skippered by Ken Read, completed the ocean crossing in 11 days with a full inventory of Kinder Canvas on board.  Arriving in Hamburg, the crew of Rambler deployed their customer designed Kinder sailcover which is one of the largest Kinder has created this year.

As the Swan American Regatta gets underway in Newport, Rhode Island, more boats will be sailing with Kinder custom marine canvas above and below decks than with canvas products from any other custom manufacturer. From sail covers and sheet bags to interior cushions and flat fenders, we have the Swan fleet covered.

After an excellent showing by Esmeralda at Key West Race Week, the NYYC Club Swan 42 is creating a buzz.  Orders have been coming in for Sailcovers, Lifeline covers, Cabin Sole Runners, Tailbags and whatever you need to match with what looks like a quickly developing fleet.  We have measures on file for one design items or can tailor to your specific needs.

As the Transpac 52 class continues to grow worldwide, Kinder Industries continues to take orders for canvas packages for boats currently under construction and for re-fits.  We have participated in the build of 7 boats and 2 retrofits, including Brightstar, Sjambock, and most recently Staycalm and Platoon.  Our products are always manufactured with the end-use in mind, requiring durability & custom specifications.  We are currently working on TP52 CAM under construction at Goetz Custom Boats.
