Shields Sailboat Covers
In 1963 Cornelius Shields, one of the foremost proponents of one-design sailing in the U.S. conceived of a modern followup to the International One Design. The new boat would have the balance and beauty of the IOD while incorporating modern trends such as fiberglass construction. Shields commissioned none other than Olin Stephens for the design of the Shields one-design. Over 250 have been built and many are actively raced in fleets around the U.S.
Price List
Winter Cover Full Winter Cover using a PVC support frame when the rig is down. Impreganation coated polyester fabric durable in extreme temperatures and resistant to UV or mildew. A full skirt to the waterline with internal pretensioned shockcord and web ties with sidelock buckles secure the cover and provide added protection from wind and run-off into the cockpit. A zipper door in the cockpit provides easy access.
Tent Cover Boom tent designed for the protection of open-cockpit and sails while moored. The front is secured at the mast with a zipper along the front edge and a velcro collar. Weather run-off is assisted by tenting over the boom reducing sun/water damage to sails and cockpit. Grommet eyes with shockcord and hooks secure the cover to various fittings on the deck. May choose from many colors of Sunbrella or our coated polyester fabric. Both fabrics are durable in extreme temperatures and resistant to UV or mildew.
